米國經濟接近(或已達)The Great Depression，許多人對美財政部長Tim Geithner多有意見。這幾日他更試以不擅言詞的表情推銷幾（十百千？）兆美元的預算，全民及媒體輿論越加譁然。研究指出，白宮注意到＂Geithner的臉對推銷政策產生負面效應＂現象，因此Geithner做政策發言時謝絕媒體錄影。某Talkshow主持人隨之建議，不如請George Clooney當財政部長的發言人，政策鐵定如包上迷人的糖衣。

因為Geithner不太受歡迎，因為米國經濟眼看進入米糧不繼，有人建議本屆諾貝爾經濟學獎得主Paul Krugman別再寫Blog了，出任政府經濟職務貢獻所學，解救米國暨世界經濟危機。

Krugman在近期的紐約時報裡對Obama的經濟復甦計畫表示失望，認為沿襲布希失敗的經濟政策。(If the reports are correct, Tim Geithner, the Treasury secretary, has persuaded President Obama to recycle Bush administration policy — specifically, the “cash for trash” plan proposed, then abandoned, six months ago by then-Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson. This is more than disappointing. In fact, it fills me with a sense of despair.)

或許Krugman真的可以考慮自己下（宦）海。
